Where Was Wednesday Season 2 Filmed? Real Locations and Nevermore Sets

Wednesday Season 2 was filmed in Ireland, and Nevermore is not one building. On screen the school is a composite of real places, sets and visual effects, and only some of its pieces welcome visitors.

Here is what each real place contributed, according to the people who filmed there or run the sites, and what you can actually see today.

One school, many locations

Netflix says production moved from Romania to Ireland, based mainly at Ashford Studios in County Wicklow.

For any stop, ask two questions: which part of the show is connected to this place, and what can a visitor see there now? A filming credit answers only the first. Opening status, private ownership and whether a set was ever left standing answer the second.

Charleville Castle, County Offaly

Netflix credits Charleville Castle, a neo-gothic castle near Tullamore, with matching Season 1’s Romanian look.

The castle is cared for by the Charleville Castle Heritage Trust, a voluntary not-for-profit group. When checked on October 29, 2026, its website said public tours were temporarily paused while projects and essential works take place, with no reopening date, and that a volunteer-run castle cannot always offer regular opening times. Keep it on your list, but check the trust’s announcements before you travel.

Powerscourt Estate, County Wicklow

The estate’s own filming announcement says the production used Powerscourt House, the gardens and the waterfall, that the house doubles as the gothic home of Hester Frump, and that its facade was digitally enhanced to create Nevermore’s new exterior.

The gardens

The estate says its private family burial ground from the 1860s was used for night scenes and can be glimpsed from the Wishing Well in the gardens.

In the official trailer, the estate says, Hester can be spotted in the Italian Garden with the Sugarloaf Mountain behind her. Treat the gardens as a landscape to explore rather than a set of exact frames. The estate is a working visitor attraction with its own ticketed areas; check its visitor pages for which parts are open on your date. The estate also states that photography for commercial purposes is not permitted in the gardens or at the waterfall.

The waterfall and Camp Jericho

Camp Jericho, in Episode 3, was a set beside Powerscourt Waterfall, Netflix says.

The waterfall itself is a separate site from the house and gardens. Discover Ireland puts it about 5 km from Powerscourt House and Gardens, calls it Ireland’s highest at 121 m, and describes a drive in from the gate lodge through old beech, oak and pine woodland.

If you visit both, plan them as two stops. The real cascade is a recognizable landscape; the camp structures were separate production elements.

The cemetery mausoleum: Deansgrange

The mausoleum was a standing set at Deansgrange Cemetery, Netflix says.

Deansgrange is a cemetery first. If you go, follow posted guidance and be considerate of mourners. If what you want is the show’s outdoor atmosphere, Powerscourt may suit you better.

Willow Hill: Clonliffe College

Netflix says Willow Hill was filmed at Clonliffe College in Drumcondra.

We found no public visitor information for the building, so do not assume access to the grounds.

Private and production-only places

  • The school gates: a private estate in Roundwood, per Netflix.
  • Ashford Studios: a working studio is not a tour stop unless its operator offers one.
  • The courtyard set, “the Link”: a set whose brickwork was cast from Romanian molds, per Netflix.

Season 1’s castle: Cantacuzino, Romania

Netflix names Cantacuzino Castle as the original Nevermore. According to the castle’s official site, it stands in Bușteni, facing the Bucegi Mountains, about 100 km from Bucharest and 40 km from Brașov. It was completed in 1911 for Prince Gheorghe Grigore Cantacuzino, a former prime minister of Romania, to plans by architect Grigore Cerchez.

Unlike Charleville, Cantacuzino is set up for visitors, with an art gallery, events, accommodation and a restaurant listed on its site. It belongs to a different trip.

Choosing what to visit

  • Open to visitors: Powerscourt’s house and gardens, Powerscourt Waterfall, and Cantacuzino Castle. Check each operator for current times and tickets.
  • Check first: Charleville Castle, while its tours are paused.
  • Respectful visit only: Deansgrange Cemetery.
  • Private or production-only: the Roundwood estate and Ashford Studios.
  • Access unverified: Clonliffe College; we found no public visitor information.
